We travel, Summer vacation, 2015 – Chamonix

– Where do you want go home?
-I have no clue honey. Maybe now lets go through France and Switzerland, not Italy.
-What about Chamonix? It is a very cute little town. We could see the Montblanc and go through the tunnel we could not when we came here.
-Oh, Montblanc, sounds great

And then I thought that we will DRIVE through a beautiful little town, just you know, see anything else too, not just the beautiful Alps. Then after getting through the oh-so-famous tunnel between Italy and France we arrived and suddenly my husband drove into a parking area.
-What? We stop? I thought we just go through somewhere.
And after got out from the car and like leaving our minds finding a shadow, I was amazed. Firstly that how can be that hot, at the feet of the Montblanc, when I see a lot of snow?! Well we figured out that is not the normal weather as we saw lamb fluffy something and fleece blankets were on every chair in every restaurant…
And secondly, that view! Those houses! So many people and calming at the same time! I want that view every morning, too! I do not want to say anything else, just that look the pictures, and you will know, what I am talking about :-)
We will go back. Defenitelly we will go back <3.

We travel: Summer vacation, 2015 – Portovenere

It happened I think on Tuesday but maybe on Monday, that I was looking on my friend’s insta pictures and saw one about Cinque Terre. I knew, that she was there in that part of Italy before us (just a week or so), so suddenly it came to my mind to search about what is exactly Cinque Terre and where it is. Because I have seen a million times that typical picture about the colorful houses on the hill-side and also was sigh a little that wish I could see it once, SO there was the opportunity. We already had plans for Wednesday but there was a Thursday.
So we went. And now I have a big suggestion for you: never ever believe 100% what the GPS says! Because ok, Cinque Terre means 5 towns, which means that 5 towns are sidebyside so maybe you know that you are already in the other town that the sign shows (well, thats really true), because they look exactly the same. But GPS thought that we want to go that Cinque Terre, which is a little little something of about 10 houses, a beach and thats all. The worst and the best on the same time, that we had to go there through an extra ( I mean, extra!!!) tortuous, sinuous road, up on the hill and down from the hill and I was su-per-sick. But it was ahmmazing (yeah I like to write that word this way :D ) because we saw million olive trees, and it happened that a big cloud went through the hill (we were on super high), like I touched it, and did not see anything but our noses. Suddenly it disappeared and the Sun brightly shined ( suddenly it became very hot) and we could see the wonderful blue sea from above.
I took a pic of that place…

It was beautiful but definitely not that place I wanted to go. I told my husband that no matter we already drove 2 hours (sorry kids!) but want to see what we started to travel for! Thanks God, we arrived. it so worthed to continue our trip! We chose -or maybe it chose us, cause we just parked somewhere- Portovenere. It was really that beautiful view with the colorful houses as I saw in several photos. We climbed to the castle and a big surprise waited for us! Behind the houses there was a rocky place, like a rocky beach but only a very few and brave persons were bathing there. You know the water here is really strong and you have to jump from stone to stone. It was a sunset that time so just cannot describe how wonderful it felt. We have to go Malta next summer. We -have-to-go. (Cause Malta is like a stone-rockes-caves-water place) Enjoy our memories!

We travel: Summert vacation, 2015 – Saint-Tropez

I still have memories and pics in my pocket to show you about our very busy one week in August, when we traveled to Sanremo, as our baseplace, and then everyday we drove somewhere near (or little far) to see beautiful places.
Saint- Tropet was one of that places and at the same time the farthest place in South France we went. It was about 3 hours driving from Sanremo, and of course it was hot (sometime AC just not enough already) but really worth every minute. We had old memories about this town in movie series or/and old songs from the 90’s so we were curious if it was like Monaco (see Nice post) or it is really that cool and beautiful places. Mainly that lots of actors and actresses come frequently here for a lunch or just have a rest.
It is not that big town and oh my gosh! The buildings are as beautiful as in Nice, so many little beautiful details and colors and color-combos, but it is so much calmer. So much calmer. Except at the bay or by the alongshore but if you go farther you here silence and….. how can I describe? Our hearts were just go pitter-patter it was absolutely amazing. At least we did not went to the water here because it was just a tiny little “beach” but as we came here saw cool beach with sand in Saint-Maxime (it is the previous town before St.-Tropez if you come from the direction from Nice), and it was a free beach but enough big and that time (around 5-6 pm) already just a few people, we swam in the almost sunset, the sea was so amazing. Oh, I want to go back there!!!!

So just see the pics. Just see the pics.

We travel: Summer vacation – 2015, Nice

One of our plan was to visit Nice. We had have heard before that it is beautiful and my friend was here just right before our vacation and said it was so worth to see.
So we went. And did not regret. Before the trip I searched through the internet if there was any flea market and if yes then when. So we went on that day. And did not regret. It was the best flea market I have ever seen, though I have not been at too much. It was so elegant, we could find ANYthing. It as cheap and very expensive at the same time, it depended totally on the seller. When the weather started to be really hot, with our little treasures in our pocket went to the beach.
The beach was incredible, the water was incredible blue, so the sky! How you see in the photos it looks like, well it is natural wy it looked like (so no photoshop I mean…). However the beautiful landscape and so this part of the Riviera is not good to swimming with kids, Why am I saying that? The shore and the beach was filled up with little stones which hurt our feet like crazy (both because it was hot and spiky) but the shore was extra steep and huuuuge waves we had because there was no any breakwater stone. So if you can vastly get into the water as deep as you can, you will survive, but at the shore, it was really scary!!! There were some minutes when I was the two kids alone on the steep shore alone, and almost….almost a big wave drift us… so no Nice beach with little kids…

Yes, that mirror, the little drawer under the mirror, please. Ok and that rug from the back, I do not mind….

But what to do with little kids when we want to melt under the Sun? There is a fun water playgrounds for them! You know when little fountains, waterspouts come from the ground. Sometimes it comes slowly, then inmediatelly big and so and so. You can imagine, when lots of kids running and lauthin in the midle, and lots parents are waiting at the edge….in clothes… you can see in their eyes that they would just run through or praying inside that at least someone splash them… just a little splash! :D:D:D:D:D:D So, its name is Promenade du Paillon. The other part of the new area is a big green park, where you are allowed to sit or lay and picnic in the grass. At one of the corner of that green area there is a beautiful carousel. Really beautiful!

Beside the beautiful beach area, we were amazed by the buildings. They were just incredibly beautiful, so many little details, amazing color combos what you only discover if you just see one building during long minutes. I would take photo of all, but no way you know…

At the and of the day we went home (aka Sanremo) and of course on a totally different way than we went to Nice, to discover new places. That is how we went through to Monaco, and realized only its name is ‘wow’, Monaco is a little… (country?!) which looks quite boring. So we were happy that did not waste a whole day to it, driving through and see this and that was just enough. Except you have a lot of money what you want to spend on a big boat :-P.
But then we arrived to the top from when we could continue our way go back, and I saw this landscape, swimming in the golden sunset. A little Monaco, a little Nice from above and a half island. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Though we want to come back again someday!

We travel: Summer vacation – 2015, Sanremo

Lets see a few pics about the town, where our accommodation was in. I write a single post about hills, about the way we came here, just click. May you have the question, why we chose Sanremo, in Italy? Well, if you have little boys around you the past 5-2 years, you know what I am talking about if I say Cars 1-2 movie. In the 2nd part the italian race was at a beautiful place like rocks, town on the hill until the sea, hill and sea, may I have to say more ? :D My husband said it is around the Sanremo area so we looked for a good priced accommodation and planned the program for the other days. I have to mention, that there is difference Sanremo and San Remo. The last one is just at the opposite side of the country, just right next to Venice and so… other playa. And the other main difference is the landscape as here, in Sanremo and at that coast side it is rocky and high, and tight, and beautiful and breathtaking… of course the other coasts are beautiful, too ( I have been in Venice and Caorle and Bibione)  who what prefer most.

So Sanremo is not so big town but it is full of life, beautiful parts and yes the coast is wonderful, very very children friendly (you will understand later, when I mentioned it again when I talk about Nice). There are lots of hotels you can choose from, both facing to the sea and in the middle of the town. The houses are climbing up on the hills, the more you climb up the more separated houses you find. You can choose of several ‘playas’, the coast is operated by difference facilities, the main difference is only the price and number of the sunbed. (of course we had a favorite) – you cannot lay on the sand with saying that then you enter free.
And it is a big good news that in the whole Italy you can find a lots restaurants, hotels, shops eating gluten free because in Italy there are lots   of people with that problem. Ha. The humor of the life. In the land of pizza and pasta. But just look at our face one of the pictures, how happy we were to have a real good dinner in a RESTAURANT. Gluten free, very kind restaurant (the design was so good). And the leftover was so good next day for breakfast ;-)

We travel: Summer vacation, 2015 – The Alps

We had a regally good summer vacation from the very first day of August. Officially we went to Sanremo, Italy, but because we traveled by car, had knew before the vacation, that we would go to see other cities nearby – for example the Riviera! Also we planned our trip that on the way to there and back we would go through cities that were worth to see.

We have already knew that somehow we really love the mountains. Especially the mountain+lake combo… the Alps amazed us, I almost cried (haha, really…) the lakes were emerald green not just green or blue. Oh my, how could be a lake be emerald green?! The clouds…. we live on a hill too, and the clouds usually are beautiful, but there… so I decided I make a single post just about the Alps. We traveled through the Alps from Switzerland to Italy, and our fortune was that the huuuuuuuge tunnel between Switzerland and Italy was closed by some reason, so we had to go up, and then go down, and we were driving through clouds, and it was amazing. Ok, ok, I stop now to say how amazed I was (and am) just see the pictures. :-)

We travel: Stuttgart part I.

Actually it is our hometown now, but I thought it would be a very first post from our travel series.
So, Stuttgart, where we live now. The downtown of the city is ‘sitting’ in the valley and then continues upper and upper on the hill. Usually the streets are tight and however I have never been (already!) in San Francisco, but as I have seen in the movies and as we were going after the tram up and down, it remands me if we were there. You realize, how high you can go, or how high the houses are when you look back and down to the valley, to the other houses. For example we live almost on the top, after our backyard there is only one street left, and then finished.

The old and modern houses are mixed incredibly good. You cannot realize that you can see two different type of houses near to each other only if you watch every single house or build alone. In front of the Neuer Schloss (it is a Castle) there is a big park and then there is a very old looking building, but inside there is a hypermodern supermarket (I mean, lots of shops of several brands, restaurants etc).

The other thing I realized after being here for two days, that you can see roses everywhere. I mean every corner! I have not looked after if there is any story behind that, but it is really good for your eyes when you travel or walk around the typical urbanish milieu and you see these pop of colors. Every colors of roses can be.

Above the roses there is more ‘green’ as many in a downtown could be (except New York though :-P ), it is really good to see, that they tried to put a tree or a little grass almost everywhere using such a creative way…

But if would not be there any tree or rose it would be so green as well, because the city is actually in a forest. For example, to enter to our street is through a forest too. Of course, you would not imagine it as is in the horror movies, the nature and infrastructure run into one another. On the hill-side you find lots of Vineyard. Lots of Vineyard.

But back to the downtown part, I mentioned the park in front of the Neuer Schloss. It is so green, the grass is so deep green that at first sight you would think it is not real. Of flowers are around, you can sit/laydown/run in the grass. There is a looooong pedestrian precinct there too, with lots of people, especially on Saturdays evening. (On Sundays is almost totally empty, because every shop and almost every restaurants are closed on Sundays) It is very colorful, because of the people, because there is always something, several good street musicians, we have seen cute sisters fluting for pocket money, HipHop dancers, clowns, live statue man, ‘drawing” man, etcetc. If there is any festival or party, they put on the stages there between the park and the showed supermarket building.

There is a little lake in the city, called Feuersee as Firelake, supposed to be for the firefighters in case of fire. So, the lake and the neighborhood of the lake was not so impressive, except maybe that little church on the middle and that we saw ducks and turtles in the water. But I think that at fall and winter time it will be much more beautiful with the colored trees in the soft sunshine or covered with white after snowing or just frozing.

Last but not least, the here is another interesting sign of the city: this city has a lots of fountains. Sometimes they put one a very creative way, because there was not too much place for it: the water falls vertically!

I will continue the second part with other fountains and mini waterfalls and other really fun stuff about and from this city :-) I promise not to show you more roses :D:D:D
